Rosie’s Escape to Bali – June 2026

Day 1

Rosie made her escape! And honestly she  did not think we would make it this far.

Very easy bus to Sydney. No neighbor so managed to read and zone out.

Straight to Sydney international airport for a night at Rydges. Caught up with Danno and Jackie; but the most epic thing was the drama at the next table – 2 girls found out they were dating the same guy, and INVITED HIM TO THE AIRPORT! Not sure what happened next – but I did see one of the girls sitting at a table by herself with a bottle of wine at the end of the night….

Early night with a passport check.

Day 2

Semi early start for a 10am flight out

Very easy wait in the airport with a coffee and a book. Honestly should have gone the bubbles as it would have been cheaper and better

Flew Garuda and it was fine. No wifi and pretty old entertainment but otherwise, easy flight

Arrived at the airport at the same time as Jenni and Alisha and met at the baggage carousel. Quick 30 min drive to the villa and straight into the pool!

Received some bad news regarding Hamish (J&C puppy) so ordered some room service and enjoyed the villa. Rosie definitely didn’t panic order too many cocktails….

Day 3

Good morning Bali! Woke up in the Villa and started to get a feel for the place. Impiana is spread over three locations and we were in Sunset which was nice and quiet – however, needed to catch a buggy to the main area

We were staying in Seminyak so did a bit of a walk around and got our bearings

The package we got included daily breakfast AND daily massages, so headed to the spa which was a stunning moroccan design

Chill out time back at the Villa before heading to sunset drinks where we were the influencers

Stunning views and some stunning company

Things may be a little hazy from there, but I can neither confirm nor deny if karaoke was undertaken….

Day 4

Up again at the Villa and discovered that there are squirrels in bali! Still discovered that Rosie’s nature photographer needs work….

Walk around and some snacks. Very hard work so needed a foot massage and some cocktails to stay hydrated

That afternoon activity was pottery on the wheel, and honestly it was so much fun! The teacher was amazing. The course included 2 finished pieces that, if they make it through the process, will turn up in 3 – 4 months

Dinner at the indian restaurant at Impiana and than an early night

Day 5

Up early for breakfast and massages, and then off to Potato Head Beach Club!

We booked a beach front bed for 4 hours, which included 2 million rupee – so we lived like millionaires!

Had a swim in the Indian Ocean – much warmer than when Ollie and I swam in that ocean off Rottnest last June 2025!

Again, some scenes are missing from the memory, but I am pretty sure there was shopping, food, and then dinner??

Day 6

Some of us started the day off with some yoga… others with coffee and literature

Massages and then shopping (you might start to see the trend…)

And then we made our own perfume! It was so much fun, and like the pottery, we will have to see if we still like the smells in one month time…Again, amazing instructors and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend

Post perfume – it was too classy – so strolled down to Seminyak beach for some beers, important to stay hydrated in warm climates

Made it home and dissociated on the bed for a bit…

Dinner that night was tradition BBQ feast batong dancers. They were stunning and so much fun. Highlight was definitely the cheeky monkey

Unfortunately the band was on at FULL volume and was just a bit too much – so we bailed post main course for some time at the villa

Day 7

Villa day!

Spent the morning at the villa reading and just enjoying the quiet alone time. Dropped off some laundry before doing some more shopping and mani/pedis

Enjoyed a DELICIOUS pizza and spicy marg while people watching; and then Phenomenal chocolate cake

Alisha then kindly gave both Jenni and I a 101 on makeup before we did something random….

Le Petit Chef! It was so cute. It was basically a projector onto the table with animations of tiny chefs making the dinner. 10/10 – would recommend. And the food was stunning!

Day 8

Final full day

Laundry

Started with a villa morning, followed by some coffee, massages and shopping

And then back to Potato Head Beach Club for sunset. Some cocktails may have been had…

Final massages at Belinda’s spa

Day 9

Home day! 12pm checkout as standard which was lovely. Lazy morning with final coffees and breakfasts

Jenni and Alisha had flights at 3pm so headed straight to the airport. My flight wasn’t until 11pm so headed to Azure Beach Club which is basically like a departure lounge. Got luggage storage, a beach front lounger, food and drinks, shower facilities, and a driver to the airport for a total of $80. Stayed there from 12pm to 8pm

Very busy at the airport but did manage to be successful with an upgrade to ā€˜privacy plus’ which meant the seat nxt to me was empty so managed to get a couple of hours sleep.

Arrived in Sydney at 7am; 10am bus back to Canberra; back to reality

Huge thank you to Scott for holding down the fort while I was away. You are truly the best husband and I am endlessly appreciative of you.

Thank you to Jenni and Alisha for taking me with you and showing me Bali.Cant wait for the next one šŸ˜‰
